Meet the Founder of Collin Care Counseling

Sally Zurikat - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist- Supervisor

I think that good answers and effective tools are important to the process of therapy. However, I deeply believe that the heart of therapy is the ability to journey with you through the pain and fatigue to come out to a place of healing and contentment. The only way out is through, and I want to go through that journey with you step by step. I am a firm believer that God has made us in his image. Living a healthier, stable life is part of his design for humans. That is where our ability to recover and move on stems from.

Throughout the last ten years I've been able to travel to a lot of places all over the world supporting and encouraging people from all walks of life, different cultures and nationalities to reach a place where they can find rest and stability. During my travels and interactions with a lot of people, I learned much about myself and about human nature. Over and over I've witnessed people climb from the depths of despair and pain to build themselves better, more fulfilling lives. Regardless of who you are or what makes you unique, I would be delighted if you would allow me to take this journey with you. I have worked in non-profit organizations, Domestics Violence settings, outpatient settings, and church counseling centers. Throughout my years of travel and experience I have worked with individuals, teenagers, couples, and families on issues ranging from depression and anxiety to trauma and addiction. I have helped couples restore their marriage, find effective tools to engage with their kids, leading to a healthier and better relationship. I also enjoyed providing premarital counseling.

I love spending time with my family and friends.  I have a beautiful cat and a lovely Golden doodle.  I love reading, traveling, meeting new people, and eating different kinds of food. If you have a good recipe, share it with me! I also speak fluent Arabic and enjoy learning about other cultures.

I am also the author of The Relationship Crucible: Transforming Conflict into Connection, a comprehensive guide that helps couples navigate conflict in healthy ways to build deeper understanding and stronger relationships.

Meet The Team

Kris Brown Master's Level Intern

I believe therapy is a collaborative process that extends beyond problem-solving to cultivating new possibilities. Together, we’ll uncover what’s working, build on it, and move toward healing, resilience, and healthier relationships.

My path into therapy has been shaped by years of leadership and service in community organizations and private sector roles. Those experiences gave me a unique perspective on people, systems, and the power of relationships to foster healing. Time and again, I’ve seen individuals, couples, and families discover resilience they didn’t know they had, rebuilding trust, restoring connection, and creating new meaning after seasons of struggle.

I work with couples, young adults, and adolescents focusing on areas including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD
  • Relationship challenges
  • Addiction in families
  • Cycles of trauma, whether rooted in abuse, betrayal, cultural stress, or growing up in chaotic environments.

Our work together will not be about labels or judgment. It will be about exploring what’s possible. My style is calm, down-to-earth, and practical. We’ll talk about what matters most to you and move at your pace. My approach is trauma-informed and systemic, helping you see both your individual story and the larger relational or cultural dynamics shaping your life. Together, we’ll focus less on what’s “wrong” and more on what’s possible, building resilience and rediscovering your strengths along the way.

If you’ve been considering therapy but aren’t sure where to start, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Reaching out is a brave first step, and I would be honored to walk with you from there.

I also love meeting new people, supporting up and coming entrepreneurs, and taking long walks on the beach…no, seriously.

Dana Maurice Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A)

My counseling approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for your internal experience. Many of the people I work with are deeply caring, intuitive individuals- often carrying more than others realize. You don’t have to carry your burdens alone anymore. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can explore your inner world, value your thoughts and feelings, and begin to rediscover your authentic self: who you are beneath the roles, responsibilities, and unhealthy patterns.

As you and I work together, my hope for you is that, step by step, you experience greater clarity, connection, hope and healing. Working at your pace, you will experience my genuineness, warmth and nonjudgmental spirit.

I meet with individual adults, focusing on a variety of issues, such as:

  • Working through anxiety, perfectionism and shame
  • Navigating grief, loss and heartbreak
  • Transforming relationships (boundaries, codependency, narcissism)
  • Cultivating resilience around depression or hopelessness
  • Recovering from trauma or neglect
  • Processing spiritual or church hurt
  • Healing family-of-origin issues
